- Absolute minimum labor charge is .5 hour

Diagnosis Charges:
We continually strive at being the best Technicians and Europenan car repair shop in the industry. Many of you have found that we have solved issues that others could not remedy. We carefully pay attention to the time it takes to solve complex issues. Often, the old standard labor charge of 1 hour per diagnostic issues is often not enough time to diangose issues due to the complexity of modern European vehicles. We have adjusted my initial charges to reflect this issue in all fairness. The changes are as follows:
---Diagnostic OBD II code read (just to read "P" codes) = $60.
---Diagnostic Code Read to include manufacturer specific data using factory OEM equipment = $95.
***Mechanical diagnosis pre-2000 model year cars=1 hour and each added request is usually .6 hours.
***Mechanical diagnosis post 2000 model year cars= charges start at 1.3 hour, each additional request is usually .7 hour thereafter.
###Electronic, computer system diagnosis pre-2000 model year cars= charges start at 1 hour, each additional request is usually .7 hour there after.
###Electronic, computer system diagnosis post 2000 model year cars= charges start at 1.5 hour, each additional request is usually 1 hour there after.

Custom Upgrades:
All too often, aftermarket equipment doesn’t fit like it is suppose to, or a customer provides us with the wrong equipment. Often when combining products from multiple vendors for a desired outcome, unexpected fitment and mating issues occur. In light of past experiences, the following charges apply:
Most custom upgrades will be given an estimate. However, the time spent working on your car will also simultaneously be clocked, known as “Straight Time” using an itemized time card assigned to your vehicle. A copy of the time card is always available to the customer. If the install of aftermarket equipment goes beyond the estimated time, you will be notified, and any following charges will be applied using Straight Time. A 10% charge is added if any supplemental product research or added design and fabrication is needed.
Customers who choose to bring us their own purchases, unless given prior approval from us, will be charged an additional 20% labor fee. We will, of course, always attempt to insure that the parts fit properly to save everyone valuable time and money. If the customer insists that he provides the parts or equipment to be installed and they are found to be completely incompatible at a point in which the vehicle cannot be easily reassembled and removed from the lift bay it is occupying, the customer will be charged 50% of the labor rate for each working hour the vehicle remains occupying the lift or for reassembly to remove it from the lift for a total possible charge of 8 hours per day.
Any completely unique custom and fabrication work is charged according to Straight Time plus 15%.
Estimates, Policies, Repair, Warranties
The initial work order (repair order) that you sign to approve work on your vehicle is an estimate and authorizes the stated repair work to be done with the necessary material and hereby grants RennWerks employees permission to operate the car, truck or vehicle described on street, highways or elsewhere for the purpose of testing and/or inspection. An express mechanics lien is hereby acknowledged on the car, truck or vehicle to secure the amount of repairs thereto. RennWerks and its employees will not be held responsible for loss or damage to vehicle or articles left in vehicle in case of fire, accident or any other cause beyond your control. The customer acknowledges that a $30 per day storage fee will be assessed following 3 days after the customer has been notified of completed repairs or if the customer has failed to respond within 24 hours of e-mail and phone message correspondence for any additional issues that may occur. Your signature on the work order also signifies that you understand and agree to the following:
We will do our best to adhere to this initial estimate. We promise that we will keep you informed if the situation changes that may result in a change to this initial estimate. (We ask that customers budget an extra $10-$50 for small parts and fluids that may need replacement during repair work such as nut, bolts, screw clamps, vaccum hosing, and etcetera. We will generally not contact you about these items.) However, there are situations that may arise which may cause additional charges for which we have no control. Here are some examples:
- The age and mileage of your vehicle directly affects the longevity of parts. Metal, plastic and rubber parts fatigue over time and become brittle and weak. Often these parts tend to fail when disassembled. We take every precaution to avoid such situations, but sometimes they are unavoidable.
- Sometimes, situations arise in which someone else, the vehicle owner, or another shop has performed repairs on your vehicle in an unsatisfactory manner prior to visiting RennWerks. These situations are often discovered after we begin disassembly of your vehicle. For example, sometimes bolts and nuts can be over tightened (i.e., not properly torqued). This can result in broken fasteners or “stripping” of the bolts during disassembly. Such situations can require special attention and repair which can lead to additional costs.
- We will perform an overall check of your vehicle before we begin work, called a Courtesy Check. This includes an initial test drive and a brief general inspection of your vehicle’s mechanical condition. This typically takes an additional 30 minutes. We do not charge you for this assessment -- this is standard procedure for RennWerks. We will inform you of what we find and ask you if you would like us to repair the discrepant items. There is a chance that we may not find issues that are not immediately apparent. However, for reasons of liability and mandated laws, if we find a situation that may result in failure that can be life threatening to you and other drivers on the road, we cannot release your vehicle back to you without written and signed consent which releases our liability.
- There are rare occasions when after completing a vehicle’s repairs that during final testing another part will fail. There are millions of parts on your vehicle and sometimes this situation arises. In our experience, this is most often an occurrence with cooling system repairs. For example, after replacing a leaking radiator, thermostat, and water pump, during final testing a plastic water pipe can fail. In this situation, the replacement of the failed parts restored the vehicle’s cooling system back to normal pressures which resulted in another part failing, which was already fatigued from age and usage.
Warranty:
Our warranty is a representation of the confidence we have in our products, services, and staff. At RennWerks, we provide warranty solutions that are the best in the industry.
We offer three (4) warranty options, allowing you to achieve the level of security you desire.
Standard Warranty
We have solid confidence in the competence of our repair and maintenance work. Therefore, we offer an industry leading 24 month or 24,000 mile, which ever comes first warranty. The warranty covers the labor and part or parts that we replaced and excludes general maintenance items.
Rennwerks Standard Warranty
Our special Rennwerks Warranty provides a supreme level of coverage not matched in the industry. We offer a 5 year or 60,000 mile warranty for an additional fee equal to 30% of the total cost of the repair being performed. This is a tremendous value providing worry free driving for many years.
Performance Warranty
Any performance parts installed carry the manufacturers warranty only. This ranges from no warranty to the life of the part depending on the component and manufacturer. Labor charges are not wrrantied in most cases.
If you have any questions about the warranty please feel free to ask. If the vehicle has been tampered with or modified since the installation, the warranties are voided. Certainly any misuse or abuse of the vehicle contributing to failure also voids the warranty. Racing, whether sanctioned, club, legal, or illegal voids the performance warranty.
SALES
Sales cannot be combined on the same repair order, unless stated otherwise. One service or repair related sale allowed per customer per 30 day period. All sales come with a 90 day parts & labor warranty. 2 year/24,000 mile warranty included at regular non-sale prices.
Warranty Limitations and Exclusions
There are no warranties or garuntees for racing. Warranties are void if customer refuses to repair other issues that can or will affect integrity of repairs and and services performed. If another part fails that was not repaired by RennWerks and causes a situation that causes the replaced item to lose its integrity or prematurely fail, then the warranty does not apply. For example: A valve cover gasket leaks oil onto a recently replaced radiator hose and causes the hose to be damaged, then the replacement of that hose is not covered by warranty.
Warranties that are voided due to racing are at the discretion of RennWerks Perfomrance and its employees and is usually determined by a combination of equipment installed on the car, Computer Freeze frame data, and any visual observations. PCM (Programmed Control Modules) such as the engine control computer that have been recently wiped clean of data due to code clearing performed outside of RennWerks Performance, constitutes an automatic void of warranty.
Warranty Claims
Any issues that a customer suspects may be related to past work performed and may be covered under our warranty policy, require a "Diagnosis Charge" to cover our Technician's time to thoroughly investigate the issue. . It is at the discretion of RennWerks staff as to whether or not the initial Diagnosis charge will be credited back to the customer.
